Handmade and hand-painted on thin Thai paper. 25" w x 37" H. Unframed. The Lever House is a modernist architectural masterpiece located on Park Ave between 53rd & 54th Streets, New York City. Completed in 1952, it stands as an iconic symbol of post-war American corporate architecture and is considered one of the earliest examples of the International Style in the United States. Designed by the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), Lever House was commissioned by the Lever Brothers Company. The building’s innovative design was a collaboration between Gordon Bunshaft, the lead architect, and Natalie de Blois, a pioneering female architect who played a significant role in its development. One of the most striking features of the Lever House is its sleek glass curtain wall façade, which was a revolutionary departure from traditional building designs of the time. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Lever House continues to be a distinctive presence in the Manhattan skyline.
